When Pam first asked if I would like to do a firewalk to help raise funds for the Blake McMillan trust, I thought, “Yes, it’s s great cause I can do this.”

So I started raising money through sponsorship without even checking what a firewalk involved. As it got closer to the event I though I better check, so I Googled it,and I’m not going to lie, it made me excited and terrified all at once. On the night of our firewalk, I turned up feeling extremely nervous and wondering how I could escape without people noticing, but given the situation Blake was in at the time something inside pushed me to go through those doors in order to ensure I raised that money and I am so glad I did.

I can’t even begin to describe what happened to me that evening, I did things and experienced things I never could have imagined I would. I discovered things about myself as well and realised truth in the saying “if you want something bad enough, you’ll get it.” I can’t believe how strong my inner strength is, I am so grateful for the experiences I had whilst taking part in the Phoenix Firewalk and the person it’s changed me in to, as it has definitely changed my perspective.

I would highly recommend this experience to anyone, it is definitely up there with one of best experiences ever.
